Description
The Gasket Genius upper casing gasket fits Yamaha F4, F6, 4 - 6 HP outboard engines. It seals the joint between the upper casing (driveshaft housing) and the powerhead, keeping exhaust gases and cooling water properly contained as they pass between the engine and lower unit. Once this gasket becomes worn, compressed or damaged, it can no longer hold a tight seal at the joint, allowing exhaust or water leakage between the powerhead and upper casing. This can affect exhaust routing and cooling water flow through the assembly. Fitting a new gasket whenever the upper casing is separated from the powerhead for servicing helps restore a proper seal.
