Description

The Gasket Genius reed valve seat gasket set fits Yamaha 75 HP - 90 HP outboard engines. It seals the joint between the reed valve seat and the intake manifold/crankcase, keeping the incoming air-fuel mixture contained as it passes through the reed valve assembly on its way into the crank chamber. If this gasket becomes worn, hardened or damaged, it can no longer seal the joint properly, allowing unmetered air to enter the intake tract. This upsets the air-fuel mixture and can lead to symptoms such as rough or unstable idle, hesitation on acceleration or difficulty starting. Replacing the gasket set whenever the reed valve assembly is removed for servicing helps restore a proper seal.
