Description
The Gasket Genius carburettor gasket seals the joint between the carburettor and the intake manifold or cylinder on Stihl 08S, TS350 and TS360 chainsaws and disc cutters. This thin seal keeps outside air from being drawn into the intake tract anywhere except through the carburettor's metering circuits, which is what allows the fuel-air mixture to be controlled accurately. Once the gasket hardens or compresses with age, it stops sealing fully and lets in unmetered "false air". The engine then leans out unpredictably, often showing up as a surging idle, difficulty holding a steady rpm, or the engine simply refusing to settle no matter how the carburettor is adjusted.
