Description

Oil drive pump fits Stihl 017, 018, 021, 023, 025, MS170, MS180, MS210, MS230 and MS250 chainsaws. The oil pump is driven off the crankshaft and delivers a continuous supply of bar and chain oil to the guide bar groove during cutting. This single pump body covers a wide range of Stihl consumer and semi-professional models, from the compact MS170/MS180 through to the MS210/MS230/MS250 series. A dry guide bar, visible oil starvation on the cutting chain, or oil pooling beneath the saw from a cracked pump body all point to a failed pump. Left unaddressed, oil starvation accelerates wear on the bar rails, drive links and sprocket nose. Fitting a replacement restores full chain lubrication and protects the bar and chain from heat damage.
