Description
The Gasket Genius impeller gasket is designed for Honda BF8 - BF20 HP outboard engines. It seals the water pump housing around the impeller — the rubber vane component responsible for circulating cooling water through the engine. Once this gasket becomes compressed, hardened or damaged, the water pump housing no longer seals correctly, allowing cooling water to bypass the pump chamber instead of being pushed through the cooling circuit. This drop in water pump efficiency can lead to the engine running hot. Fitting a new impeller gasket whenever the water pump is serviced or the impeller is replaced helps ensure the pump seals properly and cooling flow is restored.
