Description
The Gasket Genius thermostat gasket fits Honda BF5 - BF100 outboard engines. The thermostat gasket seals the joint between the thermostat housing and the cylinder head, ensuring cooling water flows through the housing without leaking as the thermostat regulates engine operating temperature. A worn, hardened or damaged thermostat gasket allows water leakage at this joint, which can lead to coolant loss and reduced control over engine operating temperature, potentially causing the engine to run too hot or too cold. It is good practice to replace the thermostat gasket whenever the thermostat is removed for servicing.
