Description
Flywheel fits 3800 (38cc) Chinese chainsaws and also Komatsu Zenoah, B&Q, Draper, Sanli, Sovereign and Powerplus chainsaws. The flywheel is pressed onto the crankshaft taper and secured with the flywheel nut, with a Woodruff key holding it in the correct rotational position. Its twin roles are to store rotational energy that smooths out power delivery between combustion strokes, and to carry the ignition magnets that sweep past the ignition coil to generate the spark signal at the correct moment in the engine cycle. Physical damage to the flywheel, or displacement caused by a sheared Woodruff key, throws off ignition timing and typically results in a no-spark condition or very hard starting. Fitting a replacement restores correct timing and reliable engine operation.
