Flywheel fits Stihl 021, 023, 025, MS210, MS230 and MS250 chainsaws. Keyed onto the crankshaft taper, the flywheel carries the ignition magnets that generate the spark timing signal each time they sweep past the ignition coil, while its rotating mass helps smooth out power pulses between combustion strokes. When the flywheel cracks, a magnet comes loose, or the unit shifts on the taper due to a failed Woodruff key, the result is typically a weak or absent ignition spark, very hard starting or complete failure to run. Replacing it with a correctly fitting unit restores accurate ignition timing and reliable engine operation.
