STIHL 017 018 MS170 MS180 Small Anti-Vibration (AV) Mount

Small anti-vibration (AV) mount fits Stihl 017, 018, MS170 and MS180 chainsaws. The 017/018 and their MS170/MS180 successors use multiple AV mounts of different sizes at separate fixing points between the engine unit and the handle frame. The small mount operates at one of the secondary connection points in this system. When the rubber hardens, cracks or collapses, that fixing point loses its isolation and vibration from the two-stroke engine and cutting chain passes directly through to the operator’s hands. These are entry-level saws frequently used by occasional operators a worn AV mount is often overlooked until vibration at the handles becomes noticeably uncomfortable. Fitting a replacement restores correct damping at this mounting point.
