STIHL 017 018 MS170 MS180 Large Anti-Vibration (AV) Mount

Large anti-vibration (AV) mount fits Stihl 017, 018, MS170 and MS180 chainsaws. The 017/018 and their MS170/MS180 successors use two AV mounts of different sizes the large mount sits at the primary fixing point between the engine unit and the handle frame and carries the greater share of the vibration load generated by the two-stroke engine and cutting chain. When this mount deteriorates, the effect on handle vibration is typically more pronounced than failure of the smaller mount, as it is responsible for isolating the highest-load connection point in the system. A hardened or collapsed large mount should be replaced promptly to keep vibration within acceptable levels and prevent accelerated wear on the remaining mount.
