Bumper spike / felling dog fits Husqvarna 340, 345, 346, 350, 351, 353, 445 and 450 chainsaws, replacing part number 503905901. The bumper spike is a toothed metal plate mounted on the front of the saw body, between the front handle and the guide bar. It is pressed into the wood during felling and bucking to create a fixed pivot point, allowing the operator to rotate the saw for controlled, precise cuts with reduced kickback risk. A missing or damaged bumper spike removes this control point and makes accurate felling and bucking cuts more difficult and less safe. Fitting a replacement restores full use of the felling dog technique during operation.
