Oil drive pump fits Husqvarna 235, 235E, 236, 236E, 240 and 240E chainsaws. The oil pump draws bar and chain oil from the oil tank and delivers it to the guide bar groove via the crankshaft-driven rotor, maintaining continuous chain lubrication during cutting. The 235/236/240 series are entry-level saws commonly used for light to medium work a dry guide bar on these models is often the first sign of a failing oil pump, and is frequently mistaken for an empty oil tank. A worn, cracked or seized pump body cuts off oil delivery entirely, accelerating wear on the bar rails, drive links and sprocket nose. Fitting a replacement restores full chain lubrication and prevents further damage to the bar and chain assembly.
