Description
Bumper spike / felling dog fits 2500 (25cc) Chinese chainsaws and also Timberpro, Komatsu Zenoah, Lawnflite, Carlton and Painier chainsaws. The bumper spike (also known as a felling dog) is the toothed metal projection mounted on the front of the chainsaw body, used to anchor the saw against the wood during cutting. By digging the spike into the timber, the operator can use it as a pivot point to control the cut and reduce the effort needed to work through larger diameter logs. A bent, broken or missing bumper spike makes this technique impossible and reduces control during heavier cuts. Fitting a replacement restores correct felling dog function and allows the saw to be used safely and efficiently.
