Description
Original Stihl exhaust muffler gasket fits Stihl 029, 039, MS290 and MS390 chainsaws. This gasket seals the joint between the exhaust muffler and the engine, stopping exhaust gases from escaping at the mounting face. Once it hardens, compresses or burns through, the seal breaks down and exhaust leaks out at the joint rather than being routed correctly through the muffler. This is typically noticed as an unusual exhaust smell, increased noise or visible sooting around the muffler mounting. Fitting a replacement gasket whenever the muffler is removed for servicing restores a proper exhaust seal.
