The <strong>017\/018<\/strong> and their <strong>MS170\/MS180<\/strong> successors use multiple <strong>AV mounts<\/strong> of different sizes at separate fixing points between the <strong>engine unit<\/strong> and the <strong>handle frame<\/strong>. The small mount operates at one of the secondary connection points in this system. When the rubber hardens, cracks or collapses, that fixing point loses its isolation and vibration from the <strong>two-stroke engine<\/strong> and <strong>cutting chain<\/strong> passes directly through to the operator's hands. These are entry-level saws frequently used by occasional operators a worn <strong>AV mount<\/strong> is often overlooked until vibration at the handles becomes noticeably uncomfortable.
