Bumper spike / felling dog fits 4500 (45CC), 5200 (52CC) and 5800 (58CC) Chinese chainsaws. The bumper spike is the toothed metal plate mounted on the front of the chainsaw body that is pressed against the timber to provide a fixed pivot point during cutting. This allows the operator to use a rocking cutting motion, reducing effort and improving control when felling or bucking. When the bumper spike is bent, worn or broken, the chainsaw can no longer be anchored correctly against the timber, making controlled cutting more difficult and less safe.
