STIHL 021 023 025 MS210 MS230 MS250 Starter Pawl Kit

Recoil starter pawls set fits Stihl 021, 023, 025, MS210, MS230 and MS250 chainsaws. The pawls are the small spring-loaded engagement components mounted on the flywheel or starter pulley that extend outward when the pull cord is drawn and catch the flywheel cup to transfer the cranking force to the engine. Once the engine fires, the pawls retract automatically and disengage from the flywheel. When the pawls are worn, chipped, or their return springs are fatigued, the starter will slip on the pull and fail to crank the engine, making starting impossible.

Replacing a worn pawls set restores positive engagement between the recoil starter and the flywheel, allowing the engine to be cranked and started reliably.
