Recoil starter spring fits McCulloch Mac Cat 335, 338, 435, 440, Partner 350, 351 and Poulan 3314, 3416, 3516 chainsaws. Replaces a fatigued or broken return spring that causes the pull cord to fail to retract after each starting attempt.

Recoil starter spring fits McCulloch Mac Cat 335, 338, 435, 440, Partner 350, 351 and Poulan 3314, 3416, 3516 chainsaws. The recoil starter spring is the flat coiled return spring housed within the starter pulley assembly that stores mechanical tension when the pull cord is drawn out and uses that energy to retract the cord back into the housing after each pull. When the spring is fatigued, kinked or broken, the cord will no longer retract correctly, leaving it slack or fully extended and making the chainsaw impossible to start.
Replacing a worn or broken starter spring restores correct cord retraction and maintains the tension required for reliable engine cranking on every pull.
